These non-bank institutions focus on many different lending strategies from Private Credit and Mezzanine to Opportunistic and Distressed Debt.

Justine Duffin
Organization: BlackRock


Justine Duffin, CFA, Vice President, is a senior investment strategist for the Product Strategy team within BlackRock's Global Fixed Income group, providing a key link between the investment teams and client groups. In this role, she is responsible for product development, structuring, marketing, and investor relations for BlackRock's Private Credit platform with a special focus on the firm's US middle market investing capabilities. Prior to her current role. Ms. Duffin was a senior member of the Opportunistic Product Strategy team within Americas Fixed Income. There, she was responsible for product development and structuring, marketing, and investor relations for a variety of opportunistic fixed income investment strategies and funds. Ms. Duffin spent a number of years as a member of the Special Opportunities Group within BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI). In this role, she was responsible for identifying, marketing, structuring, and managing investments in opportunities driven by dislocations in the global financial markets, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with BlackRock's opportunistic fund investors. Ms. Duffin began her career at BlackRock in 2006 focused on the development, execution, and client service related to a variety of structured products, including CDOs. Ms. Duffin earned a BS degree in finance and international business from New York University in 2006.


Mark Fitzpatrick
Organization: Glide Capital


As a managing partner of Glide Capital, Mark is responsible for selecting managers, raising capital, supporting advisors and overseeing the operations. Mark has 20+ years experience in operations and business development roles within the financial services industry. Prior to joining the firm, Mark worked for eleven years at Crystal Capital Partners, LLC as the Chief Operating Officer ("COO") before becoming the Director of Business Development. As Director of Business Development, Mark worked closely with regional banks, broker dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and family offices to build customized hedge fund portfolios. Prior to Crystal, Mark worked as an auditor in the brokerage industry and in hedge fund administration. Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce in international business from the University of Lethbridge, Canada and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”).


Roman Krislav
Organization: H.I.G. Capital – Bayside Capital


Roman is a Managing Director of Bayside Capital. Roman is involved in all aspects of the Bayside investment process including investment origination, due diligence, structuring, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to joining Bayside, Roman spent nine years with H.I.G.’s private equity team and was responsible for all aspects of the investment process and execution of post-closing growth and operational strategies. Roman has executed numerous niche manufacturing, business services and consumer transactions across industries including automotive parts, building materials, call centers, debt collection, laser hair removal and promotional products distribution. Roman currently sits on the board of directors of several H.I.G. portfolio companies. Prior to joining H.I.G. Capital, Roman was a Vice President at Mercantile Capital Partners, a consumer products focused private equity firm in New York. Roman began his career in Goldman Sachs’ Equity Capital Markets division focusing on convertible debt and derivative securities in both New York and London across a variety of different sectors. Roman received his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. Roman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with both a B.S.E. from The Wharton School and a B.A.S. from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, graduating both magna cum laude.
