Description: Jointly hosted by CAIA Canada West Chapter and EY
Commodities are back on the agenda for investors, and geopolitics is much of the reason why. Export controls, sanctions, and the race to secure critical mineral supply outside of China have turned what was once a straightforward diversification question into a strategic one. Add inflation risk and energy transition demand, and allocators are rethinking how much real asset exposure they want and how best to get it. The view from the operating side looks different. Mining companies are managing capital discipline, permitting timelines that run for years, resource nationalism in a growing list of jurisdictions, and an investor base that has become far more selective about which projects get funded. Join CAIA Canada West and EY for a session bringing both perspectives into the same room: the asset manager's and the operator's. A networking reception at the patios of the beautiful Stack building will follow.
