Kaitlin Bergan
Organization: BlackRock, Inc.


Kaitlin Bergan, Vice President, is a member of the Institutional Product Group (IPG) within the Institutional Client Business (ICB). Prior to joining BlackRock, Kaitlin headed Marketing and Investor Relations at G2 Investment Partners, a New York based hedge fund. Previously, she held roles in asset management marketing, communications, and investor relations in both London and New York. Kaitlin earned a BA in History, with Honours, from the University of Oxford and she holds an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics.


Jennifer Coulson
Organization: British Columbia Investments


Jennifer Coulson has worked in the financial services industry for 17 years. She began her career in the mutual fund business working for a national firm that specializes in responsible investing solutions. As a senior member of the Public Markets Department at BCI she now oversees Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risk analysis for portfolio companies; engages with companies to manage ESG risk; develops public policy submissions on ESG matters of broad relevance to the investment industry; and oversees the proxy voting program. Jennifer has an undergraduate degree in Environment & Resource Management from the University of Western Ontario as well as a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University. She has attained the Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D); serves on the PIAC Investor Stewardship Committee; the 30% Club of Canada Steering Committee; and the Investment Advisory Committee for the University of Victoria Student Investment Fund.


Stephen Malinak
Organization: TruValue Labs


Dr. Stephen Malinak is the Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Truvalue Labs. Stephen leads Truvalue Labs’ quantitative research team in applying artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to create new financial signals from unstructured data. An industry leader in quantitative analytics, Stephen joined Truvalue Labs from Thomson Reuters, where he spearheaded the company’s quantitative analytics offering, StarMine, and developed over 15 quantitative models. He has an extensive track record of successful predictive models using widely varying techniques across numerous domains. He attended college at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received his S.B. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Malinak went on to receive his Masters and PhD in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University.


Jason Milne
Organization: RBC Asset Management, Inc.


Jason is Vice President and a member of RBC GAM’s Corporate Governance and Responsible Investment Group, the team responsible for promoting the integration of environmental, social, and governance factors into RBC GAM’s investment processes. He joined Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management in 2000, became the Corporate Governance Analyst soon after, and assumed his current role in 2008 when PH&N was acquired by RBC GAM. Prior to joining the firm, Jason had worked in the corporate finance department of a national brokerage firm and as a mutual fund accountant. He is also a current Board Member and past Board Chair of the Responsible Investment Association of Canada (RIA). Jason is a CFA® charterholder.


Priti Shokeen
Organization: Morgan Stanley Capital International, Inc. (MSCI)


Priti is part of MSCI Indexes Institutional Asset Owner Coverage team. She is also the co-head of MSCI’s Women’s Leadership Forum in the Americas. Prior to index coverage role, Priti was the regional head of MSCI ESG Ratings and Research. In her current role, Priti is responsible for education and adoption of MSCI market cap, factor, and ESG indexes and is actively involved in ESG integration discussions among pension funds and endowments. Prior to joining MSCI, Priti managed consulting projects and research at Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, a pioneer ESG firm. In addition, she consulted the National Roundtable for the Economy and the Environment (NRTEE) on comparative analysis of transparency practices of public pension funds in the U.K. and Canada. Priti has worked in Geneva, Switzerland for the United Nations and in India for the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Priti has a Masters degree in Sociology from Warwick University and a Doctorate in Accounting and Finance from Kingston Business School, U.K. She lives in Toronto with her husband and two children.
