John Bowman, CFA
Organization: CAIA Association


John serves as Executive Vice President for the CAIA Association, overseeing the industry leading CAIA charter, thought leadership and content development, and CAIA's Asia Pacific strategy. John has devoted over 20 years to the asset management industry to recover the narrative of the value that the investment profession bring to society. He is a staunch public advocate for market integrity, long-termism, investor outcomes, diversity, human dignity and educational standards, as necessary ingredients to building a sustainable and healthy profession. John previously served as Managing Director for the Americas for CFA Institute, a region comprised of 40+ countries from Canada, the U.S., Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Bowman joined CFA Institute in 2004 after holding several industry positions. He served as a portfolio manager at Mellon Growth Advisors (MGA), where he was responsible for portfolio construction and stock selection for the MGA International Growth and MGA Global Growth strategies. Bowman also served as a portfolio manager for the International Growth Opportunities Strategy at State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) in its Global Fundamental Strategies Group. John is a prolific writer and commentator, frequently appearing in industry and business publications such as the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Pension and Investments, Financial Advisor, The Independent, Wealthmanagement.com and CNBC. Bowman earned a BS in Business Administration from Mary Washington College and is a CFA charterholder.


Peter Epstein
Organization: JPMorgan Chase & Co.


Peter Epstein, Vice President, is Co-Head of the Alternatives Solutions Group - Americas at J.P. Morgan Global Alternatives. Peter is responsible for business development and client strategy across the Global Alternatives platform for institutional and individual clients across the Eastern half of the US. He is a member of the Alternatives Client Leadership Team and the Alternatives Solutions Leadership Team. Previously, Peter worked directly for Managing Partners, Anton Pil and Chris Hayward, focusing primarily on corporate strategy, new investment strategy and fund development. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Global Alternatives, Peter was an Investment Strategist for the J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s Global Investment Opportunities group (GIO), where he focused on generating global, cross-asset, opportunistic investment ideas. Peter began his career in the J.P. Morgan Private Bank where he covered ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices. Peter holds a BA in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MA in International Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He holds Series 3, 7, and 63 licenses.


Kristina Hooper
Organization: Invesco Ltd.


Kristina Hooper is Chief Global Market Strategist at Invesco. In this role, she leads Invesco’s Global Market Strategy (GMS) Office, which has strategists on-the-ground in North America, Europe and Asia. Ms. Hooper and her team formulate macro views of the markets and economy, examine the investment implications of those views, and share their insights with clients and the media around the world. Prior to joining Invesco, Ms. Hooper was the US investment strategist at Allianz Global Investors. Prior to Allianz, she held positions at PIMCO Funds, UBS (formerly PaineWebber) and MetLife. She has regularly been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The New York Times, Reuters and other financial news publications. She was featured on the cover of the January 2015 issue of Kiplinger’s magazine, and has appeared regularly on CNBC, Bloomberg TV. She joined the investment industry in 1995. Ms. Hooper earned a BA degree, cum laude, from Wellesley College; a J.D. from Pace University School of Law, where she was a Trustees’ Merit Scholar; an MBA in finance from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where she was a teaching fellow in macroeconomics and organizational behavior; and a master’s degree from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, where she focused on labor economics. Ms. Hooper is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC) professional. She previously served on the board of trustees of the Foundation for Financial Planning, which is the pro bono arm of the financial planning industry.


Alison Romano
Organization: State Board of Administration of Florida


Alison Romano currently serves as Senior Investment Officer, Global Equity at the Florida State Board of Administration (SBA). In that role she is responsible for directing the investment of over $85 billion in active and passive strategies across all regions of the globe. She leads the asset class team in the management of internal funds and the selection of external equity and currency strategies. Previously, she was a Senior Portfolio Manager, a role in which she provided broad oversight of active managers and identified new investment strategies within Global Equity. Prior to joining the SBA, Ms. Romano held various positions at Goldman, Sachs & Co., last as Vice President in Investment Banking. In this role she advised healthcare companies on mergers and acquisitions, financings and strategic alternatives. Ms. Romano graduated summa cum laude with a BSE in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a BSEcon from The Wharton School.


Rob Roy
Organization: AdventHealth


Rob Roy serves as senior vice president of investments for AdventHealth. Roy, who has 30 years of institutional investment experience, also serves as AdventHealth’s chief investment officer, overseeing investments for the organization, which include the core investment and employee retirement portfolios totaling approximately $14 billion. Roy has spent more than 15 years with AdventHealth. He previously served as its vice president of investments, and prior to that, as director of cash and investments. His experience also includes serving as chief investment officer for Cain Brothers Asset Management, bond trader for Putnam Investments, fixed income specialist on the floors of the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and portfolio risk manager for Ferrell Capital. In 2019 and 2018, Roy was named one of the Top 30 Health Care Chief Investment Officers by Trusted Insight. And in 2016, he accepted Institutional Investor’s Mission and Thought Leadership Award on behalf of AdventHealth. Roy chairs the AdventHealth Employee Plan Investment Committee and serves on the finance and investment committee of the Adventist Health Care Retirement Plan. In addition, he chairs the Ardmore Institute of Health’s finance and investment committee. Roy earned a master’s degree in financial markets and trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and bachelor’s degrees in business administration with an emphasis in finance from Suffolk University and applied mathematics from Southern New Hampshire University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in finance from the University of London’s Cass Business School.
