Ivy Leung
Organization: IvyLeung Consulting


Ivy is a Consultant & Coach. She provides financial services companies with strategic advices and helps wealth management organizations to build and transform their business. She also coaches advisors who are looking to improve their practice and investment process and demonstrate their value to clients. Ivy has been working in the financial industry for 25 years, in various roles at major wealth management companies such as ScotiaMcLeod, Investors Group Securities and RBC Dominion Securities etc. She has practical experience in discretionary portfolio management (at RBC DS), practice restructuring, strategic planning, and business development. With her experience and skills, she started a project to help advisors streamline investment process and transform practices to the discretionary model before leaving RBC DS to become an independent consultant. Ivy has been leading CAIA Vancouver Chapter since 2012 – building strategies and bringing relevant education to the community. She has graded CAIA exams as a volunteer and had been on AIMA Canada’s BC Committee for 5 years. She is also on the Advisory Board of SFU’s Finance Club and a supporter of various university programs. She holds the CFA and the CAIA charters and other designations such as CIPM and CFP. She has also passed the Chief Compliance Officers Qualifying Exam.


John MacIssac
Organization: RBC Wealth Management


Based in Toronto, John MacIsaac leads a team of research professionals responsible for the oversight, and due diligence of global investment managers participating on RBC Wealth Management’s platforms in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. John has an experienced tenure covering both traditional and alternative asset classes and has been called upon to present on a variety of industry panels and conferences. John is routinely involved with some of the firm’s most important clients, institutional relationships and competitive recruits. Mr. MacIsaac entered the investments industry in 2003. Prior to joining RBC, John was the lead analyst for the Canadian Equity and Canadian Small Cap funds at SEI Investments. Prior to that, he held roles of increasing responsibility at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, one of Canada's largest pension fund managers. Mr. MacIsaac received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ryerson University in Toronto, and has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.


Esther Zurba
Organization: Castle Hall Diligence


Esther Zurba is responsible for leading operational due diligence engagements across all asset classes and lending subject matter expertise across Castle Hall’s ongoing product development and client engagements. With over 20 years of professional experience including over 14 years dedicated ODD, Esther brings a perspective from both the buy and sell sides of the investor due diligence desk. Esther joined Castle Hall in 2012 from Scotia Capital’s Trade Operations and Risk Control group, where she conducted ODD on external asset managers supporting multiple business lines. Prior to joining Scotia Capital, Esther worked with Mapleridge Capital, a Toronto based short-term systematic CTA. Esther holds an MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, and BA (Honours) from University of Toronto. Esther is also a CAIA charterholder and is actively involved with the CAIA Association in various capacities. Esther is currently the chapter head of the CAIA Toronto Chapter and a member of AIMA Canada’s Education & Research, and Legal, Finance & Compliance Committees.
