Edward is currently an energy trader with Puget Sound Energy, managing the economics of the utility's surplus or deficit energy on the short term trading desk. In his role, he trades the wholesale markets in the west (Canada to California, and east to Montana) and in the California imbalance market to optimize generation assets while ensuring reliability in serving regional load. He has previously held positions in corporate finance and resource acquisitions, evaluating hundreds of proposals from developers and IPPs to meet the region's energy, capacity and renewable requirements as part of the utility's long term planning process. Prior to coming to Seattle, Edward was in San Francisco and Seoul, South Korea, where he spent well over a decade in various investment research and advisory roles at JP Morgan, UBS, US Trust, Samsung (Asset Management and Life insurance) and several multi-family offices. He has his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and his BA from Connecticut College. Edward is a CFA charter holder, as well as a CAIA charter holder.
