Paul Jackson


Paul Jackson is a Hong Kong-based Managing Director for Stroz Friedberg. Previously, he helped establish the Technology Crime Division of the Hong Kong Police Force where he led cybercrime cases, breach investigations and complex forensic work. In 2010, Paul joined JP Morgan in Asia and was subsequently relocated to New York, tasked with enhancing the forensics/incident response teams and the supporting infrastructure as global head of high tech investigations. During this time, he was involved in leading responses to a large number of cyber incidents which helped shape the tools and techniques used within this highly specialist team. Paul’s experience at JPMorgan has included leading efforts to mitigate the fallout from the largest incidents and securing evidence for the law enforcement investigations.


Michael Lee


Originally from Taiwan, Michael Lee was raised in the United States where he received his education and worked until 2005 before he relocated back to Asia. He is currently the Head of IT for PAG. Prior to PAG, he worked for ABN AMRO, Alliance Bernstein and Schroders Investment Management under different capacity, from network engineering, business analysis, project management, client services manager and IT manager. In his current role with PAG, he is responsible for all aspect of IT, ranging from infrastructure, application, client service, DR/BCP and information security for PAG offices across the APAC region. Michael has over 18 years of experience working for banks, asset managers and now hedge fund industry.


Dorothy Lo

Dorothy Lo focuses her practice on investment fund formation, private equity transactions and advising asset management clients on Hong Kong regulatory issues. Dorothy has experience in advising hedge, private equity and hybrid funds in a diverse range of matters, including fund structuring and formation, managed account arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, and joint venture transactions. She has advised hedge fund managers with strategies that include traditional long/short equity, global macro, quant, volatility, event driven, and special situations. In addition, she has assisted asset management clients in establishing their Hong Kong business operations, including handling license and change of control applications with the Hong Kong securities regulator, as well as advising on ongoing compliance and regulatory matters.


Jo Murphy
Organization: CAIA Association


Jo has been in Asia for almost 20 years, predominantly based in Hong Kong but with two valuable years spent in Singapore. She has held a number of senior Asia Pacific management positions, successfully leading sales, business development, marketing and client relationship management divisions for major institutions and has both built and managed large and effective regionally located teams. Jo was expatriated to Hong Kong, with Morgan Stanley, in early 1997 and has worked for a number of global institutions during her time in Asia covering intermediary, buy and sell side, entrepreneurial and most recently in the education business environment throughout the Alternative Investment industry.


Mark Smith


Dr Mark Smith, Principal, joined Northwest in 2002 as a trader, focusing on options and warrant trading. He took over responsibility for business development in 2005. Prior to working at Northwest, Mark worked fora European based asset management group who were the original seeders for Northwest. Mark has 18 year experience in Financial markets and his diverse background enables him to accurately communicate all aspects of the Northwest strategy to investors. Mark graduated with a first class honours degree in Physics and Computer Science and went on to obtain a PhD in High Energy Physics whilst working at CERN in Geneva and DESY in Hamburg. Mark co-authored “The Chinese Convertible Bond Market” with George Philips in 2012.


Lewis Tse


In his 22 years of police service, Lewis Tse has served in different crime formations, including the Criminal Intelligence Bureau (CIB), Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) and Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB). In 2001, Lewis was among the first group of police officers who were sent by the police to complete formal training on digital forensics.
