Trammell Venture Partners is an Austin-based venture capital firm focused on investing in highly technical seed- and early-stage startups in three core technology domains: Machine Intelligence, Blockchain Technology, and Cybersecurity. Thematic around these disruptors, the general partner of Trammell Venture Partners has subject matter expertise in these technologies, which it uses to support portfolio companies both from a technical diligence and a product development standpoint. Calicott marries his own technology background with expertise in disruptive data analytics, machine intelligence, and multi-sided platform strategies, business development, and early-stage company growth mechanics. He is an advisor and mentor to early stage founders and also a coach to the startups in a number of accelerator programs in North America and Europe. Recently he’s being called on to consider the impact of new market phenomena like initial coin offerings on the venture industry ecosystem, including issues ranging from capital efficiency concerns, to valuations due to on-balance-sheet cryptoassets, to venture capital industry disruption potential.


Garrett Goggin
Organization: Mill Creek Research


Garrett Goggin is Founder of Mill Creek Research. Mr. Goggin has been investing in blockchain assets since 2012. He has been strategic partner in many ICO token and equity deals. Started Mill Creek Research in 2013 to manage crypto syndicates. Garrett is a CFA Charterholder (Chartered Financial Analyst) and a CMT (Certified Market Technician). He serves on the board of the CFA society of South Florida as treasurer. Mr. Goggin holds MS and MBA business degrees in Finance from Babson College.


Zef Lokhandwalla
Organization: Bloomberg, LP


Zef worked for 15+ years as a Portfolio Manager and Analyst of Energy securities, trading relative value across asset classes - Equities, Commodities, Debt and Credit. Prior to joining Bloomberg earlier this year, Zef worked at BlueCrest Capital Management, Hess Energy Trading Co (HETCO), Exxon and NASA Johnson Space Center. Zef has extensive experience conducting oil & gas research, building econometric supply & demand models to forecast crude oil, products & natural gas balances, generating trade ideas and executing cross-asset class trading and hedging strategies. Zef has long standing relationships with oil & gas producers, traders, investors, money managers and has participated in numerous energy conferences as moderator, guest speaker and panelist. Zef's experience in Crypto Money goes back to 1995 from his business relationship with Digicash, an electronic money corporation founded by Dr. David Chaum, an American computer scientist and cryptographer famous for developing ecash, electronic cash system.


Russell Rhoads
Organization: CBOE Global Markets


His career before joining Cboe included positions at a variety of firms including Highland Capital Management, Caldwell & Orkin Investment Counsel, Balyasny Asset Management, and Millennium Management. He is a financial author and editor having contributed to multiple magazines and edited several books for Wiley publishing. He is the author of six market related books including Trading VIX Derivatives, Option Spread Trading, Trading Weekly Options, and Options Strategies for Advisors and Institutions. He authored material to be included in Level II of the CFA program and material for the CMT designation. In addition to his duties at Cboe, he is an adjunct instructor at Loyola University. He is a double graduate of the University of Memphis with a BBA ('92) and an MS ('94) in Finance and also received a Master's Certificate in Financial Engineering from the Illinois Tech in 2003. Russell is currently pursuing a PhD from Oklahoma State University with an expected graduation date in the Summer of 2018.


Matt Shapiro
Organization: Multicoin Capital


Prior to joining Multicoin, Matt was a Vice President in the investment banking group at Teneo where he has specialized in raising institutional capital around specific investment theses, management teams and assets. He has direct experience diligencing investment opportunities, structuring transaction economics and creating joint ventures and partnerships designed to align interests of all stakeholders. Throughout his 10-year career, Matt has structured incentives around economics, governance and security. Matt's experience creating incentive structures and the subsequent value creation that proper alignment can create is what attracted him to the crypto ecosystem. Matt holds a degree in Finance and International Business from the University of Maryland.
