The Executive Committee of CAIA's Australia Chapter is pleased to invite you to attend an exclusive education and networking drinks with CAIA’s CEO, William (Bill) Kelly, on Tuesday, September 10th.
 
Bill will take the stage to share an update on CAIA’s global activities, touch upon exciting developments in our organisation and also showcase intel and news relating to our Financial Data Professional Institute (FDPI) programme. Additionally, Bill will officially launch the 100Women in Finance Australia CAIA Scholarship initiative and does hope to see 100Women in Finance Australia members at the event in order to learn more!
 
This will be a great opportunity to hear directly from CAIA’s CEO and also provide time for you to share your insights and thoughts.
 
Further, you will also have the opportunity to meet fellow CAIA Members at this private event along with Candidates who are currently on the journey to becoming CAIA Charterholders.

Stephen Cabot

Stephen Cabot is an Executive Director for Credit Suisse Private Banking. He joined Credit Suisse in 2008 and heads the Investment Consulting team providing specialist advice in asset consulting, portfolio construction and advisory portfolios. Prior to Credit Suisse Stephen had 9 years at BT as a Private Portfolio Manager and prior to that as Head of BT Margin Lending. Stephen has over twenty five years experience in Banking and Accounting, works across all asset classes and is a member of the Credit Suisse Australian Investment Committee. Qualifications  Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Technology, Sydney  Registered Chartered Accountant  Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter holder.


Hersh Gandhi
Organization: Man Investments, Inc.


CAIA Member since 2009 Hersh Gandhi is the Managing Director, Asia-Pacific for Man Group. He has been with Man since 2004, beginning in Switzerland where from 2004-2008 he led a structuring team responsible for Asian, Middle East and South American markets. In 2008, Hersh relocated to Sydney with Man, and in 2015 he assumed responsibility for Man’s business across Asia-Pacific (ex-Japan). Prior to his career with Man, Hersh worked for 4 years in London with Clifford Chance focusing on alternative investments such as private equity and hedge funds. Hersh is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Charterholder and holds an LLB (Hons.) and a BComm (Hons.) from the University of Melbourne.


Bill Kelly
Organization: CAIA Association


William (Bill) J. Kelly is the CEO of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (“CAIA”), the global leader in alternative investment education with approximately 10,000 chartered Members in 90 different countries. The CAIA Charter is an international credential focused exclusively on demonstrated professionalism through the mastery of topics across the alternative investment spectrum. Bill has been a frequent industry speaker, writer, and commentator on alternative investment topics around the world since taking the leadership role at the CAIA Association in January 2014. Previously, Bill was the CEO of Boston Partners and one of seven founding partners of the predecessor firm, Boston Partners Asset Management which, prior to a majority interest being sold to Robeco Group in Rotterdam in 2002, was an employee-owned firm. Bill’s career in the institutional asset management space spans over 30 years where he gained extensive managerial experience through successive CFO, COO and CEO roles. In addition to his current role, Bill is a tireless advocate for shareholder protection and investor education and is currently the Chairman and lead independent director for the Boston Partners Trust Company. He has previously served as an independent director and audit committee chair for ’40 Act Mutual Funds and other financial services firms. He is also currently an Advisory Board Member of the Certified Investment Fund Director Institute which strives to bring the highest levels of professionalism and governance to independent fund directors around the world. A member of the board of the CAIA Association, Bill also represents CAIA in similar capacities via their global partnerships with other associations and global regulators. Jo Murphy
Organization: CAIA Association


Jo has been in Asia for over 20 years, predominantly based in Hong Kong but with two valuable years spent in Singapore. She has held several senior Asia Pacific management positions, successfully leading sales, business development, marketing and client relationship management divisions for major institutions and has both built and managed large and effective regionally located teams. Jo was expatriated to Hong Kong, with Morgan Stanley, in early 1997 and has worked for a number of global institutions during her time in Asia covering intermediary, buy and sell side, entrepreneurial and most recently in a professional education business environment - throughout the Alternative Investment industry. In 2000 Jo joined HSBC Securities Services (previously Bank of Bermuda) as Head of Sales for the Asia Pacific region, based in Hong Kong and in 2005 moved on to Head of Sales Asia (ex Japan) and Product Specialist for all alternative investment products at Deutsche Asset Management. In 2008 Jo rejoined the ex-Head of Bank of Bermuda / HSBC at Triple A Partners. In early 2011 Jo joined the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association, the international leader in alternative investment education and provider of the CAIA designation, as Managing Director and head of the Asia Pacific where she also holds a position on its Global Executive Committee. Jo enjoys the reputation of being hard-working, capable, committed and commercial, and was voted “Asia’s most influential woman in the alternative sector” and also one of “The 25 most influential people in Asian hedge funds” by the industry’s leading AsianInvestor magazine. Jo also was a founding member of the Hong Kong AIMA Chapter and previously held an Executive Committee Member position. Further, she also holds a number of senior Board positions, is a Fellow of UniSIM University (Singapore) as well as an advisory council member of UPACA Gurukul (India).
