CAIA Middle East is organizing an enlighting panel event in collaboration with Preqin to explore how the alternatives market in the Middle East is evolving rapidly.

From Sovereign Wealth Funds to Family Offices, the Middle East is rapidly becoming a hub for Private Capital. During this exclusive event for senior leaders in the alternatives industry we will discuss the latest data and analysis and understand the key factors that are having an integral impact on alternative assets in the region, a look ahead to 2025 as well as a panel discussion with Senior Leaders in alternatives on ‘The Rise of Private Capital in the Middle East’.

Othman Alhokail
Organization: Merak Capital


Othman Alhokail is a founding partner, a vice chairman, and a shareholder of Merak Capital which manages private funds in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Debt Financing, and other asset classes. He is the current chairman of Master Works and serves as a board member of ACES and BwaTech. Also, the founder of Knowledge Connect Group and APT. During many years of his career, Mr. Alhokail held several influential leadership roles; he was a business development director for Thomson Reuters and Ernst & Young. Mr. Alhokail earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the United States and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Finance from King Saud University in Saudi Arabia. He also holds the general securities qualification certificate (CME-1) and (CME-4).


Amine Bentaleb
Organization: Patrimium


Amine Bentaleb, Managing Partner at Patrimium Multi-Family Office since 2023, has a rich background in multi-asset class investing, including roles as Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Kimera and Portfolio Manager at the General Pension and Social Security Authority in Abu Dhabi. With over 19 years’ experience, he specialises in managing global multi-asset portfolios, focusing on generating alpha in alternative asset classes, evidenced by his top quartile rankings by Bloomberg from 2013 to 2015. A member of Young Arab Leaders and holding board memberships across various sectors, Amine combines his extensive financial expertise with a commitment to leadership and mentorship. He holds a BBA in Finance from Al Akhawayn University and an EMBA in Digital Transformation from the University of Zurich.


Rachel Dabora
Organization: Preqin


Rachel Dabora leads Preqin’s Research Insights teams coverage of non-institutional fundraising and supports clients in understanding this emerging channel. She graduated with an MSc in Economic History from LSE and a degree in International Relations from USC in Los Angeles.


Fawad Ishaq
Organization: Doha Bank


Dr. Fawad Ishaq joined the Bank in December 2023. He has over 25 years of global experience in Treasury and investments, Capital and Financial Markets. He has worked for JP Morgan Chase in New York and London, BNP Paribas, Salomon Brothers New York, Citibank, Bank ABC and his last assignment was with Khaleeji Bank in Bahrain. Dr. Ishaq holds a PhD in Economics from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington University


Marco Mauri
Organization: AlJazira Capital


Mr. Mauri is Aljazira Capital’s Chief Investment Officer. He holds approximately 25 years of experience in European and GCC institutions, working in Asset Management and financial markets across a wide range of asset classes.
