CAIA Toronto Resolutions & Prognostications

This event aims to provide an opportunity to meet other CAIA members and candidates, as well as to learn about industry leaders' outlooks for 2020 in an informal setting. You'll learn more about the speakers’ firms/organizations, their perspective on 2019 and what trends they believe may be coming in 2020.

Speakers representing different fields across alternative investments will each give a brief talk about their area of expertise, followed by Q&A and mingling.

Florence Narine
Organization: AGF Investment Management


Florence Narine is Senior Vice-President and Head of Product at AGF Investments Inc. She is responsible for the overall strategic management of AGF products across all business lines including product management and development, strategic market research and planning and leading the launch of several successful and innovative products. Prior to joining AGF, Ms. Narine worked at CIBC Wood Gundy and Fidelity Canada. While at Fidelity, she served as Director, Product Solutions before joining the firm’s institutional efforts as Director, Institutional Investments.


Claude Robillard
Organization: Belco Private Capital


Mr. Claude Robillard is currently Principal of 43 North Group and is a Registered Dealing Representative with Belco PC. Formerly he was the Managing Director of Investor Relations at West Face Capital, a leading Canadian-based alternative asset manager, where he engaged with sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, endowments, funds of funds, and family offices in domestic and international markets. Prior to joining West Face Capital, Mr. Robillard was with CIBC World Markets where he oversaw CIBC’s Capital Introduction Group, and contributed to the bank’s cross-asset capabilities while managing key relationships. Prior to joining CIBC, he was a Managing Director of Artemis Investment Management, a multi-strategy alternative asset manager. In 2007, he co-founded a European-based real estate investment group focused on development and infrastructure projects in Eastern Europe. Formerly, Mr. Robillard was a founding partner of an asset management company launched in New York that subsequently expanded to Hong Kong and Toronto, and previously held senior roles within HSBC Securities, RBC Royal Bank, and CIBC World Markets, with a focus on alternative asset classes, equity structured products, equity finance and commodity products. He is a frequent guest speaker and lecturer on alternative asset classes, and is co-chairman of the Investor Engagement Committee at the Alternative Investment Management Association (Canada) and a member of McGill University’s Expert Panel in Investment Management. Mr. Robillard was appointed to CCC’s Board of Directors on June 13, 2014.


Anna Slisarenko
Organization: Mazars


Anna Slisarenko leads the Energy & Infrastructure practice for Mazars in Canada, with a particular focus on model build, model audit, financial modelling training and advisory services, supporting Canadian investors pursuing infrastructure assets both in Canada and globally. Anna brings over 12 years of experience in project and corporate finance, structuring and execution, asset and portfolio management, project development and operations in infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. Prior to joining Mazars, Anna was a Vice President with Capstone Infrastructure Corporation, where she was primarily responsible for corporate and project finance, asset management, deal origination and execution, as well as with Ontario Pension Board, where she structured private debt transactions and principal investments in PPP and renewable energy assets. Anna is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business.
