Hugo Agudo
Organization: Perpetual Private


Hugo Agudo, Senior Research Analyst, Perpetual Hugo joined Perpetual in May 2016 as a Senior Research Analyst with a focus on hedge funds and credit opportunities. Prior to joining Perpetual, Hugo was a Portfolio Manager—Alternatives in IOOF’s multi manager business. Hugo was responsible for building and maintaining a portfolio of hedge funds, private equity, private debt and infrastructure. Prior to becoming a portfolio manager, Hugo was a Senior Research Analyst at IOOF with responsibilities in alternatives, asset allocation and international equities. Hugo was also a Research and Performance Analyst at AM Corporation which was subsequently acquired by IOOF. Hugo holds a Bachelor of Science from Macquarie University.


Vivian Lau
Organization: One Tusk Investment


Vivian Lau, Managing Partner and Founder, One Tusk Investment W. Vivian Lau is the Managing Partner and Founder of One Tusk Investment Partners. Prior to One Tusk, Vivian was the Senior Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Serengeti Asset Management until January 2015, where she joined as a Founding Partner in October 2008. Serengeti was an opportunistic, value-based investing platform that was founded in September 2007. During her tenure, she helped to grow the organization to $1.5 bn of AUM with 30+ people. In 2006, Vivian was promoted to Managing Director at Goldman Sachs at the age of 28. In the same year, she also became the Co-Head of the Multi-Strategy Investing business (MSI). MSI was a multi-billion dollar AUM platform that opportunistically invested across equities and credit. It was a 20 person investment team within the Goldman Sachs Special Situations Group (SSG), the largest global proprietary investment platform within the firm. From 2006 to 2008, she also oversaw the E&P Capital lending platform, which was a joint venture between SSG and J. Aron Commodities division. She was a member of the Americas SSG Investment Committee and Specialty Lending Investment Committee from 2006 to 2008. Prior to her 2006 promotion, Vivian was a Senior Investment Pod leader in Goldman Sachs MSI business, leading equity and debt investments in the Energy, Healthcare, Materials, Industrials, and Liquidations, from 2004 to 2006. She joined the Special Situations Investing (SSI) business in 2002 as a Research Associate. Vivian helped to broaden the mandate and grow the business at SSI, which was renamed MSI in 2004. She began her career at Goldman Sachs in July 2000 as an analyst on the Distressed Bank Loan Research team. Vivian graduated from Harvard University in June of 2000 with a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Economics. She currently serves on the Campaign Committee for Harvard University School of Engineering, Arts, and Sciences. She was also a Co-Chair of the Class of 2000 15th Reunion and 10th Reunion Committees. In addition, she served on the board of the Achievement First Crown Heights Elementary and Middle School from 2010 to 2013.


Laurence Marshbaum
Organization: Sunsuper


Laurence Marshbaum is Portfolio Manager – Alternative Strategies with $70bn Australian Superannuation Fund Sunsuper. Laurence is responsible for the management of the Alternatives Investment program which invests across Hedge Funds, Private Debt and Specialist Credit. Laurence oversees the Alternative Strategies $1bn Co-Investment Program which is invested alongside the fund’s investment partners in high conviction investments. Prior to joining Sunsuper in 2012, Laurence was based in London as Portfolio Manager with Distressed Fund Furstenberg Capital and Portfolio Manager /Analyst of the Fund of Hedge Fund program at Alternative Risk Capital Holdings (London). Laurence is the founder and Chairman of 10x10 Philanthropy a global volunteer led movement which connects young professionals with grassroots charities.


Travis D. Schoenleber
Organization: Cambridge Associates, LLC


Travis is a Managing Director in Cambridge Associates’ Sydney office. Prior to joining the Sydney team, Travis spent seven years as an investment director in Cambridge Associates’ Boston office. He has worked with a wide variety of non-profit institutions, hospitals, pensions, insurance pools, and family offices in Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, and Bermuda. Non-profit clients include universities, colleges, independent schools, religious institutions, and foundations ranging in size from $100 million to over $20 billion. Travis advises on investment and institution specific issues such as asset allocation strategy, manager selection, investment program evaluation, liability-driven considerations, and enterprise-related objectives and constraints. In addition to working with institutions and families across total portfolios, Travis specializes in constructing and overseeing hedge fund and other absolute return portfolios for his clients. He has been a presenter at industry conferences on topics such as investing in hedge funds, constructing and managing portfolios, and risk management from a practitioner’s perspective. Prior to joining Cambridge Associates in 2007, he was an equities analyst at a $20 billion pension, the Employee Retirement Systems of Texas. He was responsible for individual company research, attribution analysis, and, more specifically, the Asia Property portfolio. As a portfolio manager with the MBA Investment Fund, LLC, he managed three equity and fixed income portfolios with $16 million in total assets. Travis also has two years of US fixed income and mortgage underwriting/securitisation experience at Wells Fargo. Travis has an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business and a BA from Colorado State University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst designations.
