Gordon Barnes
Organization: Cambridge Associates, LLC


Gordon is Managing Director of Business Risk Management at Cambridge Associates and has been with the firm since 2006. Gordon leads a global team of analysts responsible for conducting operational due diligence reviews of investment managers across all asset classes. Before joining C|A, he was an alternative investment research analyst at Kobren Insight Management and managed the operations for its fund of hedge funds. Prior to this, he was a senior accountant at BISYS Hedge Fund Services. Gordon earned his BS from the University of New Hampshire and holds an MBA in Strategy and Business Analysis from Boston University School of Management. He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.


Robert Fishman
Organization: New England Pension Consultants (NEPC)


Rob’s investment career began in 1995, and he joined NEPC in 1999. Rob is a member of the Discretionary Team and spends the majority of his time strategically building, maintaining, and opportunistically adjusting discretionary portfolios. He is the consistent link between the NEPC client team and the Discretionary Committee who ultimately approves initial and ongoing asset allocation changes in discretionary portfolios. Rob continues to have a focus on corporate defined contribution and defined benefit plan clients. Rob has co-authored several research pieces for NEPC and has been interviewed in industry publications such as PIMCO’s DC Dialogue. Rob’s also responsible for leading NEPC’s manager research effort in the alternatives area for custom target date funds. Rob is a member of the International Equity Advisory Group. He additionally chairs NEPC’s Due Diligence Committee, chairs NEPC’s Retirement Plans Committee and sits on the Partner’s Research Committee. Prior to joining NEPC, Rob worked at Pioneer Investment Management as a Marketing Statistics Analyst. As an analyst at Pioneer, Rob worked closely with the retirement group, where he recommended the appropriate products for new 401(k) plans as well as takeover plans. Rob conducted competitive analysis on Pioneer’s products and calculated the performance for their mutual funds. Prior to Pioneer, Rob worked as a performance coordinator at Eaton Vance Management. Rob earned a M.B.A from Bentley College in 1999 and a B.S. in International Business from Ithaca College in 1994. Rob is a CFA charter holder and a member of both the Boston Security Analysts Society, and the CFA Institute. While at Bentley College, Rob was admitted to Beta Gamma Sigma national honor society.


Drew O'Brien
Organization: Alcatel-Lucent Investment Mgmt


Drew O’Brien joined Alcatel-Lucent in January 2008. He currently serves as Director, Public Markets & Absolute Return for Alcatel-Lucent Investment Management Corp. (ALIMCO), which manages the investment program for the corporate pension and 401(k) assets. In this role, Mr. O’Brien manages the investment activity within the public markets, both equity and fixed income, and absolute return program. He is responsible for monitoring allocations and performance of the portfolio as well as performing all levels of due diligence on current and potential managers. In addition, Mr. O’Brien also serves as the primary liaison for ALIMCO’s consultants and is a member of the asset allocation, alternative investment and compliance committees. Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent, Mr. O’Brien was a Senior Research Analyst in the Alternatives Group at New England Pension Consultants (NEPC) focusing on single-strategy research of hedge funds while working with a large corporate pension plan. Prior to NEPC, Mr. O’Brien worked as a portfolio manager/trader for Fort Hill Capital Management (FHCM), a model-driven, volatility arbitrage hedge fund and equity option trader on the CBOE in Chicago, IL. Mr. O’Brien has a B.S. in Accountancy from Villanova University and a M.S. in Finance from Suffolk University. Mr. O’Brien has also earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.


Andria Weil
Organization: Wellington Management Company LLP


Andria oversees Wellington Management’s family office strategy and execution across product, vehicle, marketing, and distribution. In this role, she also serves as a business development manager responsible for sales and marketing efforts to family offices in the US. Her role is to understand the needs of families and institutional investors and to provide solutions to meet those needs from the firm’s broad product offerings. Prior to joining Wellington Management in 2008, Andria was the senior strategy officer at Harvard Management Company, where she led and directed new business initiatives and projects for the investment and administrative groups, and served as the primary liaison to Harvard University (2006 – 2008). Before that, she worked at Harvard University, where she served as the assistant treasurer, director of Treasury (2005 – 2006) and as director of Development Strategy (2004). Before joining Harvard, Andria was a consultant at McKinsey & Company (2001 – 2004). Prior to earning her MBA, Andria spent six years in private equity, first at Morgan Stanley and then at Nautic Partners in Rhode Island. Andria earned her MBA from Harvard University (2001) and her BS in economics from Purdue University (1992).
