commodities and related equities have seen a resurgence in interest this year. This panel 
of experts will analyze the alternative asset classes through fundamental and quantitative 
lenses and provide outlook for 2026 and beyond.

David Chang


David A. Chang is a Partner at Wellington Management Company, where he founded and leads the firm’s commodity efforts and serves as Portfolio Manager on long‐only and long‐short commodity approaches. In this capacity, David is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the firm’s commodity and real asset franchise, leading his team of commodity investment professionals and guiding the investment process. David is also the sponsor to the Wellington NextGen Business Network and the founder of Wellington’s Upstanders Group. The Upstanders is a grassroots effort composed of over 400 Partners and Managing Directors, who are engaging in sponsorship and mentorship in support of colleagues across the firm.
Outside of Wellington, David serves on the boards of The Steppingstone, an organization that supports the academic achievements of 1300 underprivileged Boston‐based youth, The Horological Society of New York and The Board of Trustees of Tufts University, his alma mater where he studied quantitative economics and international relations.


Albert Chu


Albert Chu is a Portfolio Manager at Man Group (Man GLG), focusing on natural resource strategies. He joined Man Group in 2023 from BNY Mellon, where he was the lead portfolio manager covering natural resources. Prior to this, he held investment and portfolio management roles focused on natural resources equities and futures at various investment firms, including Citadel LLC and SAC Capital. Albert holds a BA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Cornell University.


York Lo


York Lo, CAIA CIMA is the Head of Alternative Product and LLCs, John Hancock Investment Management where he has been a key member of the team responsible for manager selection and oversight and product development and management for global fund platforms with AUM in excess of US$200 billion. Over the past 15 years at Hancock, he has launched products across structure types (mutual funds, tender offer funds, ETFs, CITs, UCITs) and asset classes (equities, fixed income, liquid and illiquid alts) which contributed significantly to the firm’s growth. At Hancock, he is also the founding co-chair of the Asian American ERG, PACES US and has served as a mentor to the firm’s MLK Summer Scholars. Prior to joining Hancock, he has 10 years of experience in the asset management industry in the US and Asia working for firms such as UBS and Putnam Investments in business development and research roles. He has been Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst since 2004 and received his MBA from MIT Sloan and BSBA from Boston University Questrom School of Business. He currently serves on the board of the Association of Asian American Investment Managers (AAAIM), the DEI advisory board of CAIA, the DEI advisory committee of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA) and the Alternative Investment Committee of Nicsa.


Hilary Till


Hilary Till is a Principal of Premia Research LLC, focusing on commodity research, risk management, and index development. She also serves as an Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow at Bayes Business School, City St George's, University of London, U.K.

Previously, she held risk management, investment, and portfolio management roles at BNY Mellon | Wealth Management, Putnam Investments, Harvard Management Company, and two banks that later merged into Bank of America. At Putnam, she managed a commodity fund on behalf of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, Arthur Andersen's 401(k) plan, and a union pension plan administered by Morgan Stanley. She began her career in the Artificial Intelligence Group of Accenture's predecessor company, where she developed an expert system for Ford Motor Company.

Till is a member of the Boston Economic Club; co-editor of the bestselling Risk Book, Intelligent Commodity Investing; a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society (U.K.); a member of the Bretton Woods Committee in Washington, D.C. (including its AI Working Group); and a board member of the NYC-based International Association for Quantitative Finance.

She holds a B.A. with General Honors in Statistics, with concentrations in Computer Science and Economics, from the University of Chicago. She also holds an M.Sc. in Statistics from the London School of Economics, where she studied under a private fellowship administered by the Fulbright Commission.
