CAIA Zurich is delighted to invite you to an exclusive Information series on Private Equity Investing.
 
Private markets have become an important part of institutional investment portfolios and are expected to further gain importance. In this educational event, we will discuss the role of private equity in portfolios of institutional investors, and its implications, as well as investment and selection approaches and related challenges and opportunities. We will also provide an outlook for the asset class in terms of allocation to portfolios, investment activities, and valuations, especially in light of the changed inflationary regime and corresponding monetary policy.

Martin Kessi
Organization: Ardian Customized Solutions


Martin Kessi joined Ardian in 2008. He is Senior Managing Director in the Primaries & Secondaries team, a member of the Global Investment Advisory Committee and Co-Head of Customized Solutions. He is also responsible for Ardian's activities in Switzerland.


Olivier P. Müller


Olivier P. Müller is a Director and Head of Investment Delivery at Credit Suisse, based in Zürich, Switzerland. He runs the Investment Delivery subdepartment within Investment Solutions & Products (Chief Investment Officer organization). In this function he is responsible for active delivery management of investment products by combining Investment Strategy and Investment Committee views with adequate product investment implementation in a cross-asset and cross-product approach, covering both the advisory and the discretionary business. He joined Credit Suisse in 2002 at Investment Management as a Career Starter, was at Trading & Sales and then moved to the Research department where he became senior analyst, then team/sector head and subsequently held various senior roles in the investment business such as lately Senior Investment Strategist and deputy regional Chief Investment Officer for Europe/Switzerland within Credit Suisse's Investment Strategy Department. He studied banking/finance as well as accounting at the Universities of Berne and Zürich, Switzerland, and graduated with a Master of Science (MSc). He has the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation as well as the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification. He is a member of both CFA Institute and CFA Society Switzerland where he also currently serves as Chair University Relations and hosts of the CFA Institute Research Challenge in Switzerland, the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association, the Swiss Financial Analysts Association as well as of the Global Association of Risk Professionals. He speaks fluently German, French (both native) and English.


Persefoni Noulika
Organization: BlackRock Private Equity Partners


Persefoni Noulika is a senior investment professional at BlackRock Private Equity Partners (PEP) group focusing on private equity opportunities across the European market in a variety of different sectors. Previously, she worked at Pala Investments, focusing on the origination, execution and monitoring of direct private equity investments in the mining and natural resources sectors. Prior to joining Pala Investments, Persefoni worked at UBS Investment Bank in London where she was primarily involved in the execution of a number of M&A transactions in South Eastern Europe and the Middle East and subsequently, coverage and advisory of the bank's natural resources clients as part of the Global Industrials Group. Persefoni holds a MSc Economics from the London School of Economics and MA (hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.


Stephan Skaanes
Organization: PPCmetrics AG


Stephan is a partner and member of the Executive Board of PPCmetrics. He earned a doctoral degree at the University of Zurich, specializing in banking and finance. He has been certified as a “Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)”, “Financial Risk Manager (FRM)” and “Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) “. He is also a lecturer at the University of Zurich.


Georg Wessling


Dr. Georg Wessling is a Senior Portfolio Manager Alternative Investments and a member of the Pension Asset Management team at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. (Roche). He is responsible for investments in foreign real estate, private equity, hedge funds and insurance-linked securities on behalf of Roche’s Swiss pension funds. Before joining Roche in 2017 he has been for 12 years with Vontobel Asset Management’s hedge fund division (former Harcourt Investment Consulting) in various roles managing and advising hedge fund portfolios. Between 1995 and 2004 Georg was an Investment Consultant with Zurich-based Ecofin Investment Consulting. In 2004 he received a PhD from Zurich University with a thesis on solvency insurance and investment policy of pension funds.
