Description:
Impact & ESG Investing: Maximizing Impact and Maximizing Returns

Impact investing & Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing are terms that have gained in prominence. A rapidly increasing number of wealth managers, foundations, pension funds and major financial institutions are now seeking investments with measurable positive impact. These sophisticated investors are increasingly aware of their ability to earn robust financial returns by supplying capital to funds, businesses and projects that also generate social or environmental benefits.

Citing a number of big name investment firms launching impact investing initiatives, a recent Economist article says the sector is going mainstream. In the past two years alone, private investment firm TPG launched the largest impact fund yet — the $2B Rise Fund, Bain Capital launched the Bain Capital Double Impact Fund run by former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, BlackRock launched BlackRock Impact and Goldman Sachs acquired Imprint Capital, an impact investing firm. Insurance companies like Prudential, AXA and Zurich along with banks like UBS, BNP Paribas, JP Morgan and Barclays have committed significant amounts to impact investing and ESG strategies.

At this educational event, hosted by Invesco and organized by the CAIA Association and Big Path Capital, you will hear how leading investors and companies harness the power of impact strategies to deliver both attractive financial returns and measurable impact, and gain insight into how a range of asset owners view the sector today.

Our expert panelists will address such questions as:
  • What are impact investing & ESG investing?
  • How have investor perspectives on this type of investing evolved?
  • Does delivering social or environmental impact necessitate sacrifice of return?
  • What kinds of impact opportunities are available?
  • How do impact investments fit into an overall portfolio?
