How do we extend and complement our ODD processes when looking at this asset class and what do we need to be wary of? Come and hear from one of the foremost experts share his experiences and insights in this fast changing field.

Speakers' Bio


Steven D’Mello
Head of Operational Due Diligence for Digital Assets

Steve joined Albourne Partners (Canada) Ltd as an Operational Due Diligence Analyst in 2014 to focus on the credit and fixed income sector before expanding into private markets ODD. Steven has played an important role in developing Albourne’s framework for assessing operational risk pertaining to digital assets, and is a contributor to the SBAI Crypto Assets Toolkit, the AIMA Digital Assets Custody Guide and the AIMA Digital Assets DDQ.

Steven joined Albourne from RBC Capital Markets where he worked in Corporate Treasury and Product Control and previously worked for Citco Fund Services in pricing and fund accounting. Steven holds a Bachelor of Administrative and Commercial Studies degree from Western University and has earned both the CFA and FRM designations.


Debra Ng
Partner and Head of Albourne Asia

Albourne Partners was established in March 1994 in the UK as an independent specialist consultant focused on private equity/venture, private debt, real estate, real assets and liquid alternatives. As a non-discretionary advisor, the firm effectively serves as an extension of clients’ due diligence staff with 605 employees in 11 locations throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Debra is a Partner and Board Director of Albourne Partners Limited. As Asia Region Head, she is responsible for Albourne’s practice across Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan while overseeing Albourne’s Portfolio Group strategy, advice and delivery of client outcomes in Asia. Her experience spans 32 years in the financial industry including equity research, equity and fixed income asset management and alternatives advisory.

She supports the industry as an AIMA Singapore Exco member and Chair of SBAI’s Singapore Advisory Committee. She is also an independent director of the UBS Optimus Fund Singapore DAF and a member of the Albourne Women’s Network.
