Anne Cooper

Anne joined MAFC with more than fifteen years of banking experience, specialising in balance sheet management issues. Anne has held executive positions in Institutional Banking and as Head of Strategy for the Financial Services division of a major Australian Bank. More recently Anne was the Education Director at the Centre for International Finance & Regulation and is currently a member of AFMA's Accreditation Advisory Board. Anne has more than 10 years of experience in delivering graduate education programs to finance professionals.


Howard Marks
Organization: Oaktree Capital Management


Since the formation of Oaktree in 1995, Mr. Marks has been responsible for ensuring the firm's adherence to its core investment philosophy; communicating closely with clients concerning products and strategies; and contributing his experience to big-picture decisions relating to investments and corporate direction. From 1985 until 1995, Mr. Marks led the groups at The TCW Group, Inc. that were responsible for investments in distressed debt, high yield bonds, and convertible securities. He was also Chief Investment Officer for Domestic Fixed Income at TCW. Previously, Mr. Marks was with Citicorp Investment Management for 16 years, where from 1978 to 1985 he was Vice President and senior portfolio manager in charge of convertible and high yield securities. Between 1969 and 1978, he was an equity research analyst and, subsequently, Citicorp's Director of Research. Mr. Marks holds a B.S.Ec. degree cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a major in finance and an M.B.A. in accounting and marketing from the Booth School of Business of the University of Chicago, where he received the George Hay Brown Prize. He is a CFA® charterholder. Mr. Marks is a member of the Investment Committees of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Edmond J. Safra Foundation; a Trustee of the Metropolitan Museum; Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Drawing School; and an Emeritus Trustee of the University of Pennsylvania (where from 2000 to 2010 he chaired the Investment Board).


Travis D. Schoenleber
Organization: Cambridge Associates, LLC


Travis Schoenleber, based in Sydney, is a managing director with Cambridge Associates, a global asset consulting firm. He is head of hedge funds and liquid alternatives for Australia and New Zealand and has spent eight years as an investment director with Cambridge. Travis specializes in constructing and overseeing absolute return and alternatives portfolios for his clients. Prior to joining Cambridge Associates in 2007, he was an equities analyst at the Employee Retirement Systems of Texas. Travis has an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst designations.


Rajath Shourie
Organization: Oaktree Capital Management


Mr. Shourie is a Managing Director and co-portfolio manager within Oaktree's Distressed Debt group. He contributes to the analysis, portfolio construction and management of the Distressed Opportunities and Value Opportunities strategies. Since joining Oaktree in 2002, Mr. Shourie has spent his time investing in distressed debt. He has invested in the airline/aircraft industry for a number of years, and led the firm's investments in financial institutions during the global financial crisis. Mr. Shourie has worked with a number of Oaktree's portfolio companies, and currently serves on the boards of Taylor Morrison (NYSE: TMHC). He has been active on a number of creditors' committees, including the steering committee in the restructuring of CIT Group. Prior to joining Oaktree, he was an Associate in the Principal Investment Area at Goldman, Sachs & Co., and a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. Mr. Shourie earned a B.A. in Economics from Harvard College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He then went on to receive an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.
