Description:

CAIA New York Alternative Investment Solutions to Decarbonization: from Defense to Offense

Join us on June 24, at 5pm ET, for a panel discussion around climate change solutions through alternative investment strategies. Our panel includes asset owners (LPs), Investment managers in liquid assets, real assets, as well as venture capital, all focusing on providing innovative - return-seeking - solutions to meet the goals set by the Paris Climate Agreement.

Topics to be discussed include:

-Why and how are investors moving from defense (do no harm) to offense (solutions) in decarbonization investment strategies?
-Which sectors of the economy need to be decarbonized the most (energy, food, utilities, infrastructure, etc.), and what are the most frequently used investment strategies used to access these (PE, real assets, venture, liquid)?
-How can we accomplish both our climate and social goals, through investing in a "Just Transition"
-How do investors avoid unintended consequences of a decarbonization-focused strategy (eg., siting of infrastructure in undeserved communities)?
-How do investors look at government policies: a hindrance or a help?
-How do investors evaluate, and report on, the impact of their decarbonization strategies?
-What are some of the biggest challenges of identifying and implementing decarbonization investment strategies?
-What are the key industry associations, NGOs, and other institutions surrounding the investment industry that support investors through this journey, and how do investors use these? (UN PRI's "Inevitable Policy Response" for policy scenarios, CAIA, CFA, etc.)

Panelists:
-Taj Ahmad Eldridge, Include Venture Partners
-Robert Brown, Atlas Impact Partners
-Nic DiLoretta, Aksia
-JoAnn Hanson, Church Investment Group
