CAIA New York and GARP New York present
AI/ML in Alternative Assets Investments and Risk Management

Join us as a panel of world-class experts, moderated by CAIA CEO Bill Kelly, discuss the evolution, purpose, applications, and risks of using AI/ML in alternative asset investment & risk management.

The discipline of Artificial Intelligence (AI) was born in the summer of 1956 at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. This technology has progressed dramatically in the past 65 years to the point where asset managers are comfortable with AI being incorporated into their investment process to generate alpha.

Machine Learning (ML), a subset of AI, enables asset managers to organize and translate vast amounts of unstructured data into recurring patterns. AI, ML, and the use of natural language processing, have been offering the alternative asset management industry efficient solutions for both generating alpha and reducing costs. According to a number of recent surveys, expectations for advances and innovations in AI-powered risk management solutions are very high.

Hear from the panel on the following topics and more:

• Evolution and roles of AI/ML in alternative asset investment (including ESG) and risk management.
• Risks of using AI/ML in alternative asset investment and risk management.
• What types of AI/ML are best suited for generating alpha for alternative asset investment?
• How to use AI/ML to conduct risk management and mitigation.
• Do alternative asset managers and investors clearly articulate their AI touch-point?
• Are alternative asset managers leveraging AI to become data-driven firms, decision-driven firms, or productivity-driven firms?
• How can alternative asset managers capitalize on using AI/ML for greater automation of processes, customization, and productivity?
